PCC ELECTS NEW OFFICERS AND BOARD MEMBERS

Stepping down after two terms as PCC co-presidents, David Brimm and Jeffrey Bierig handed the PCC gavel over to incoming co-presidents Jonathan Lehrer and Jill Stewart.

Stewart is president of Stewart Communications, an integrated marketing communications firm specializing in healthcare and social issues. Lehrer is an independent consultant specializing in healthcare, non-profit and Internet projects. Both have been active in PCC for nearly two decades.

Four new members have been elected to the PCC Board:

Karen Brown (Director of Marketing, Chicago Historical Society); Bill Keegan (Senior VP, Deputy General Manager, Edelman Public Relations); Louis Pukelis (communications consultant); and Katherine Sopranos (Second VP, Public Relations, Northern Trust Corporation).

Brimm and Bierig will continue on the Board, along with Michael Argetsinger, David Bosch, Kerry Caba, Monica Kasley, Pat Kremer, Susan Prather and Charisse Witherspoon.

The slate of PCC officers includes Charisse Witherspoon (treasurer); Pat Kremer (secretary); David Bosch (First VP); Monica Kasley (Second VP); and Louis Pukelis (Third VP).

A complete list of Board members and contact information appears at www.publicity.org/board.htm. Committee chairs are listed at www.publicity.org/committees.htm.

In a unanimous resolution adopted at the June Board meeting, Brimm and Bierig were lauded for "their dedicated and exemplary service to the PCC."

Susan Prather, completing a term as PCC Treasurer, was responsible for recruiting the dynamic duo, both of whom individually served as PCC President previously. Prather is recognized for her multi-faceted efforts to ensure a strong future for PCC.

Also, Jill Stewart received the Club's highest honor, the Pub Clubber award. In her three years as program chair, Stewart's committee produced PCC meetings in a professional development format that attracted 75 or more attendees to each monthly luncheon.
