The Publicity Club of Chicago
invites you to enter the only awards program in the
Midwest honoring distinguished individual achievement of
public relations and other communications professionals.
These prestigious awards are presented for excellence in
planning, creativity and execution. The Publicity Club
of Chicago is the largest, fastest-growing and most
progressive regional public relations organization in
the country.
AWARD CATEGORIES
THE GOLDEN TRUMPET
Outstanding achievement in public
relations.
THE SILVER TRUMPET
Distinguished achievement in public
relations.
THE PLATINUM AWARD
Recognizes the best overall public
relations program. Judges will consider overall use of
public relations practices and the value of the program.
The Platinum Award will be announced at the Awards
Banquet.
QUALITY OF LIFE AWARD
Foremost contribution of the year to
improve the quality of life in our society through
public relations. Established in 1977 in honor of the
late Edwin J. Shaughnessy, PCC officer and member.
CREATIVITYAWARD
Recognizes and encourages special
creativity in public relations programs. Established in
1986 in honor of the late Elynore Dolkart Meserow,
former PCC president, for her consistent support of
creativity in entries during many years as chairman of
the Golden Trumpet Awards judging subcommittee.
JUDGING
Each category will be judged by a
panel of expert communications professionals - veterans
in their fields. Many are members of the Publicity Club
of Chicago and related organizations including the
Public Relations Society of America and the
International Association of Business Communicators.
Judges follow strict procedures to prevent conflicts of
interest. Each entry will be judged and scored by three
separate judges. Key facts about the judging process:

Judging is based on objectives,
techniques, creativity, cost-effectiveness and
results.

Entries are not judged against
each other - judging is based on standards of
excellence.

There may be more than one gold
and one silver awarded in each category.
Winners will be notified by Monday,
March 18, 2002 on a confidential basis.
THE GOLDEN TRUMPET COMMITTEE
Co-chairing the 2002 Golden Trumpets
Committee are David Bosch and Monica Kasley. Committee
members include: Gwen Biasi, Karen Brown, Kerry Caba,
Dominic Calabrese, Drew Morrissee, Renee PreJean-Motanky,
Kim Redd, Shelia Rotman, Lynda Simonetti, Mattie
Smith-Colin, Chelsea Stalling, Kristen Stiller, Susan
