Golden Trumpet Awards - 2006

(The 2007 Golden Trumpet Schedule is Here)

CHICAGO (May 8, 2006) - ABC7’s Janet Davies and Bill Zwecker of CBS2/Chicago Sun-Times hosted the Publicity Club of Chicago's annual Golden Trumpet Awards last Friday afternoon at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago.

Nearly 500 public relations and communications professionals and their clients attended the awards presentation that honors distinguished individual achievement of public relations and other communications professionals. Fifty-eight Gold Trumpets and 77 Silver Trumpets were awarded at the ceremony.

Longtime Chicago public relations professionals Herb Kraus and Fred Strauss received the PCC’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Both have been active in the Chicago public relations community for many years and both have served as president of the PCC.

Three top awards that illustrate special creativity, address an issue to improve the quality of life, or exhibit the best overall public relations, were announced at the ceremony. These entries were evaluated by a select group of public relations executives, who selected "the best of the best."

Top recognition went to Flowers Communications (Platinum Award): L.C. Williams & Associates (Creativity Award) and Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor Network (Quality of Life Award).
