Announced
FOX 32 News Anchor Robin Robinson and
Bill Zwecker, feature/entertainment reporter and film critic, CBS 2 and Chicago
Sun-Times columnist, co-presented the Publicity Club of Chicago’s (PCC’s) annual
Golden Trumpet Awards on May 16 at the Palmer House Hilton in
Chicago.
More than 500 public relations and communications professionals and their
clients attended the awards presentation that honors distinguished individual
achievement of public relations and other communications professionals. In
total, 51 Gold Trumpets and 127 Silver Trumpets were awarded.

Thomas J. Burrell, founder and chairman emeritus of Burrell, one of the
nation’s leading African-American owned full-service communications agencies,
received the PCC’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Three top awards that illustrate
special creativity, address an issue to improve the quality of life, and exhibit
the best overall public relations also were announced. The entries were
evaluated by leading public relations executives, who selected "the best of the
best."
