Recent events, including the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery, have sparked global conversations about racial injustice in America and the broader need for more purposeful diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives and priorities. Consumers expect more than multicultural marketing from brands and it’s time for that specialty to evolve and represent the complexity and multitudes of diverse audiences. Companies that want to take a public stand on diversity as part of their brand communications must first address systemic racism and rethink everything from within including employee communications, operations, marketing and more. This isn’t just a blip in time, and brands will be held accountable now and in the future.

Hear from FleishmanHillard’s Rachel Coleman and Aundrea Rogers about how they are pivoting to an era of mosaic communications that acknowledges diverse audiences and the value brands must serve for their consumers today. They will also address the alignment of brand and reputation as organizations commit to long-term DE&I strategies, and look ahead to emerging issues and hot topics in DE+I. Rachel and Aundrea serve as the Diversity Champions for the FleishmanHillard Chicago office and are responsible for planning, executing and measuring the office’s internal DE&I initiatives. Additionally, both are members of FleishmanHillard’s MOSAIC group that partners with clients across industries to provide timely and strategic guidance on DE&I issues, programming and positioning.
