They will discuss 'Political Messaging in 2020' as the November 3 election approaches. About Lynn Sweet

Lynn Sweet is the Washington Bureau Chief for the Chicago Sun-Times. She appears frequently on CNN and other outlets as an analyst. Sweet has a master's from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and an undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley. She also attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Sweet is a former fellow at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics. Sweet is in Northwestern University’s Medill Hall of Achievement and was named by Washingtonian Magazine as one of the capital’s "50 Top Journalists."

About Rick Jasculca

As Chairman of JT Strategic Communications since the firm opened in 1981, Rick Jasculca has been a leader in the field of public affairs and special events management.  Rick contributes strategy and fresh thinking to the firm’s public affairs and event clients.  Signature JT projects in which Rick has played a pivotal role include lThe Chicago Community Trust’s On the Table initiative, the Knight Foundation’s On the Table replication project in ten US markets, the 12th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) “Women and the Economy Summit,” the Experience America/Diplomatic Partnerships program for the U.S. State Department, as well as a wide variety of special projects and assignments for The Carter Center and Clinton Foundation. 

Rick spearheaded a JT team of more than a dozen professionals who spent ten months in Little Rock quarterbacking the grand opening of the Clinton Presidential Center. Rick was also senior strategist and project coordinator for Norman Lear’s Declaration of Independence Road Trip. In terms of public policy, Rick is regularly involved in the development of strategies dealing with a wide range of pressing issues, including public education, health care, the environment and climate change, the challenges facing both multiemployer and public employee pension funds, political polarization, economic development, transportation, bridging the rural-urban divide – to name just a few. And, Rick is regularly engaged in projects requiring crisis and reputation management strategies, one of JT’s specialties. 

Independent of his strategic communications career, Rick has twice served as a special consultant to The White House – first as both Press Lead and Advance Lead in the Carter White House, and then, for eight years as Senior Advance Lead for both President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton. In the latter capacity, Rick served as White House Project Coordinator for the 1994 Summit of the Americas in South Florida, the Wye River Middle East Peace Talks and the inaugural Save America’s Treasures Tour; Advance Lead for The President for the G-8 Summits in Naples, Italy-Birmingham, England-and Okinawa, Japan; and Advance Lead for many of First Lady Hillary Clinton’s international journeys, including her first solo overseas trip to India, as well as her historic 1995 speech at the UN Women’s Conference in Beijing.
