Publicity Club of Chicago's Media Impact Award

The Publicity Club of Chicago's Media Impact Award is an annual honor bestowed upon a distinguished individual or organization for making significant and lasting contributions to the media profession. This award recognizes work that has demonstrated excellence in reporting, storytelling, and ethical journalism, and has resonated beyond the newsroom to shape public discourse and influence the broader media landscape.

Honorees’ work has shown an unwavering commitment to uncovering the truth, amplifying diverse voices, and upholding the highest standards of journalistic integrity. Award candidates are those whose work has not only informed and engaged the public but also has inspired positive change, holding the powerful accountable and giving voice to the voiceless.

To nominate an individual or organization for the Publicity Club of Chicago's Media Impact Award for the 67th Annual Golden Trumpet Awards, you must submit a narrative of up to 800 words that demonstrate the case for their earning this recognition. You also have the option to provide links to one or two professional highlights such as a published profile, video content, presentation deck or other media.

The PCC Nominating Committee will judge nominees in four areas:

Advocate for the Industry: Have they promoted the journalism profession?
Impact on the Industry: Have they changed practices in journalism?
Impact in the Midwest; Have they impacted their community?
Unique Factor: Are they a pioneer of any kind or do they operate in a way that separated themselves from the pack?

Nominations for the 2025 Media Impact Award must be submitted by Friday, June 20, 2025 at 11:59 PM CST. Questions can be submitted to office@publicity.org.

The Media Impact Award honoree will be honored at the 67th Annual Golden Trumpet Awards Ceremony, which is taking place on the evening of Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago's Crystal Ballroom.
