Duties and Responsibilities

Media Relations:

  • Assists multiple client teams in media relations and execution of PR programs.
  • Monitors, tracks and reports editorial and social media coverage for multiple clients.
  • Finds and flags stories while monitoring media and suggesting opportunities to client teams.
  • Identifies pitching opportunities.
  • Develops accurate lists of the most appropriate journalists and bloggers for outreach.
  • Maintains and updates existing media lists.
  • Writes and proofreads media materials and pitches.
  • Coordinates and executes media mailings with the agency’s account executive.
  • Researches industry trends, competitor activity, and consumer insights to inform strategic recommendations and campaign planning.
  • Pitches media as assigned.

Agency Support:

  • Provides weekly news reports as assigned.
  • Provides general administrative support to the account management team, including scheduling client interviews, preparing presentations, and managing client files.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date project documentation in agency’s Asana software, including meeting notes, status reports, and client correspondence.
  • Oversees document management and organization.
  • Supports agency content development and marketing efforts.
  • Communicates regularly and promptly with team members so everyone is updated and in the loop.
  • Leads the preparation of monthly client reports, ensuring team members share all insights appropriately. 
  • Takes initiative in providing support in new projects, e.g., summarize meeting notes or conduct research for missing information.
  • Takes initiative to help co-workers on projects

Requirements

Job Description

The Account Coordinator position provides entry-level support for multiple account teams. Work includes owning client coverage reports, developing media lists, monitoring trends, reviewing publications, tracking stories, supporting media relations, attending client onsite media interviews, and aiding in project management.

THE QUALIFICATIONS YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM:

  • A bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Journalism, PR or Communications, or one to two years of related experience and at least one year of PR internship experience. 
  • 2 - 3 years experience (this can include internships). A PR agency background and experience with social media and digital communications are preferred.

$35,000 - $45,000
