WE ARE HIRING! Join our team and become our new full-time MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER, responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications, marketing, and public engagement strategy that advances the Village’s Strategic Plan and strengthens the Village of Niles brand.
Some info about the position…
- Serves as the Village’s Public Information Officer and primary point of contact for media inquiries.
- Develops and maintains a Village-wide communications strategy that ensures consistent messaging, transparency, and public awareness of Village initiatives.
- Manages the Village’s “Love Niles” marketing campaign to promote the Village, attract residents and visitors, and support economic development.
- Manages Village social media and digital platforms and collaborates with departments for content.
- Prepares and distributes press releases, media advisories, and official statements.
- Provides direct supervision of the Communications & Multimedia Coordinator.
- Assists departments with marketing materials and campaigns to promote services, events, and programs.
- Maintains and enforces Village branding standards across all departments and communication platforms.
- Monitors analytics and engagement metrics and provides regular performance reports.
- Develops content strategies to promote Village services, programs, and events.
- Works closely with the Economic Development Coordinator for consistent messaging with business retention, recruitment, and promotion.
- Manages contracts and relationships with external marketing, public relations, photography, and media vendors.
- Develops and manages the marketing and communications budget and reports regularly on implementation and outcomes.
Qualified candidates should…
- Have a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, English, Communications, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Have at least two (2) years of experience in marketing, public relations, and/or communications.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office, Canva Pro, social media platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, and Illustrator.
- Have prior experience directly supervising other employees.
- Be able to occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
Pay, benefits, and more…
- Hiring range for this position is $89,856 – $125,799 (starting salary is typically no higher than the midpoint and is dependent upon qualifications)
- Typical hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with evening and weekend hours as needed
