About the Panelists

Kelly Aiglon has worked in Chicago media – both in editorial and brand marketing – for more than 20 years. She started her career as the editor of Where Chicago magazine and published several visitors guides before joining Modern Luxury as the editor of its first bridal title, CS Brides. Soon after, she joined digital lifestyle media site DailyCandy. While working at DailyCandy, she took the plunge into brand marketing creative work to see what it was like “on the other side.”

As a marketing freelancer, she launched the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants blog, wrote ad campaigns for Hanes, created brand books for Viceroy Hotels, crafted internal messaging for Redbox, handled social media for Kraft Heinz, and more. After DailyCandy shuttered, Kelly took another editorial position as Managing Editor at Red Tricycle while retaining a freelance client base.

When an opportunity arose to create and lead the editorial and copy team at Ulta Beauty’s headquarters, Kelly took it and worked there for three years, leading messaging across site, email, video, social, in-store and magazine. It was after that that Kelly took the job as Managing Editor at SPLASH, a job she adores because it puts a fun spotlight on Chicago’s diverse people and places.

In her spare time Kelly loves hanging with her husband and twin boys, teaching cardio street dance, and going on Midwestern getaways.

Michelle Dellinger has twenty-plus years of experience in publishing/communication arts, including project management, writing, editing, graphic design, publishing, marketing and public relations. Her writing experience includes multisource feature articles, marketing copy, press releases, company backgrounders, news stories, quarterly/annual shareholder reports and technical product manuals. She is currently the editor of Naperville magazine.

Dellinger studied communications at both the Champaign-Urbana and Chicago campuses of the University of Illinois. She started her career in public relations at Chicago’s Financial Relations Board before taking a marketing role with a manufacturing firm in West Chicago. Her love for magazines started with a trade publication called Manufacturing Systems, where she covered enterprise resource planning software and the Y2K “scare.”

After doing freelance writing and designing work while her children were young, Dellinger re-entered the publishing world and spent five years managing collegiate textbook and retail book production. She spent a year as a senior project manager before being promoted to managing editor, running the U.S. office of a large offshore publishing services firm. Although Dellinger appreciated the experience an international work environment offered (she was in New York, India, the UK, New Jersey and San Francisco in the same month), she gave up the extensive travel for a local position managing the production editorial department at Sourcebooks.

But less than a year after that, Tribune Publishing contacted her with an offer she couldn’t refuse: to manage the editorial content of the lifestyle magazine in her hometown. In her three years at Naperville magazine, Dellinger has restructured the print and digital editorial content into the premiere lifestyle magazine in Chicago’s west suburbs. In addition to geo-targeted coverage and publication-specific digital products, Tribune Publishing offers print opportunities in Naperville magazine, Splash, Chicago magazine and the Chicago Tribune.

Theresa L. Goodrich is an Emmy-winning author and content creator with a penchant for storytelling and a keen eye. She’s the founder and publisher of The Local Tourist and author of the Two Lane Gems book series.

Theresa has appeared in several Chicago media, including Crain’s Chicago, the Chicago Tribune, the former Chicagoist, WGN, WLUP, and WCIU. She was one of the founding bloggers of ChicagoNow, was the Chicago Expert for Answers.com, and is a contributor to 1000TravelTips.com. She’s spoken on marketing, motivation, and entrepreneurship at several panels and conferences, was a mentor at the exclusive 2019 Bloghouse conference in Scottsdale, Arizona, and was a featured speaker at the 2019 San Diego Travel & Adventure Show and the 2019 Chicago Auto Show. In October, 2019, she’s leading a writer’s workshop in partnership with Midwest Travel Network and Hendricks County, Indiana.

When Theresa’s not writing, speaking, or on the road, she’s cooking and planning her next adventure.
