Speaker Bios

Mary Gura

Before she retires in Napa to make wine, Mary brings her passion for perfecting processes and bringing ideas to life to C-K’s public relations and social media programs.

She joined C-K from Edelman in Chicago where she was a Senior Vice President working across clients in categories such as automotive, pet care, consumer packaged goods and travel. She’s known for skillful team leadership and account management as well as expertise in content marketing, social business strategy, influencer engagement and social analytics.

Before Edelman, Mary was at Weber Shandwick where she worked at General Motors to activate the earned and social media efforts for GM’s centennial celebration and production launch of the Chevy Volt. She also launched the first-ever employee blog, earning kudos from then CEO Rick Wagoner. Mary also worked on the first-ever social media campaign for Nestlé Nesquik that leveraged YouTube influencers during her time at Marcus Thomas, a national integrated marketing communications agency located in Cleveland.

Mary is accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and is a multiple recipient of the prestigious PRSA Silver and Bronze Anvil awards. She is also the past president of PRSA Chicago, past board member of the International Association of Business Communicators. Mary volunteers with the American Heart Association and is a member of the PR Kent State University Advisory Board.

Joshua Hicks  

Joshua is an experienced digital marketer with focus on influencer and content marketing. He currently serves as Director of Digital and Influencer Marketing for Dynamik Influence. He has over a decade of experience developing innovative strategies and executing influencer programs for clients across a wide variety of categories including entertainment with Netflix, automotive with Kia, Hyundai, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Toyota and Volvo, and consumer packaged goods with P&G and other brands at Walmart and Sam’s Club. 

Prior to leading influencer marketing teams, he worked in film production in Los Angeles and Seattle. Through everything, his passion for storytelling and connecting with audiences through authentic, relatable content has been paramount. He lives in Rogers, AR and spends his free time with his rowdy toddler daughter.

Alexa Matthews

Alexa Matthews is a born and raised New Yorker, a professional eater and the founder of @EatingNYC, a personal blog charting Alexa’s dining and travel experiences around the world. 

Founded in 2014, @EatingNYC has quickly become one of the most influential digital brands in New York, boasting over 300,000 followers on Instagram alone. Currently, Alexa works with F&B brands, retail designers, tourism boards and local eateries on a consulting basis. She recently launched “StrEAT Talk,” where she gets in the kitchen and shares how some of NYC’s hottest dishes are made. 

Previously, Alexa worked as the Social Media Manager at marketing firm Bullfrog + Baum and as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Tacombi Restaurants. Her unique position as both a hospitality professional and as an influencer sets her apart and her keen understanding of the industry has been essential to her success in producing strategic brand content when across different sectors. 

Alexa was listed as one of the Top 30 People in Food by AdWeek in 2016 and has been featured by CNN, Wall Street Journal, CBS News and Zagat, amongst others. 

Katie Stoller

Katie Stoller is a Senior Manager and Influencer Strategist on the Digital team at Golin Public Relations, the 2021 Provoke North America Large Agency of the Year.

With a decade of experience at top PR agencies including Ogilvy and Ketchum, Katie counsels’ clients on how to effectively reach goals by working with brand-right influencers to tell compelling stories. She is also a member of the Women in Influencer Marketing (WIIM) professional group.

During her career, Katie has worked with iconic, household brand names such as LG, Whirlpool, J.M. Smucker Co., General Mills, and Kimberly Clark as well as countless influencers and celebrities.
