City Cast Chicago is Chicago’s first daily news podcast, celebrating and challenging the city’s news breakers and culture makers; activists and artists; neighbors and ne’er-do-wells. City Cast Chicago is also a daily email featuring the news you need, plus what to do tonight, where to eat this weekend, and all kinds of delightful ways to connect with the city. PCC will talk with City Cast Chicago team members as City Cast Chicago celebrates its one-year anniversary.
Panelists will include City Cast Chicago Producer Simone Alicea and Host Jacoby Cochran.

Speaker Bios
Simone Alicea is the Producer of City Cast Chicago. A Seattlite making her way in the Windy City, Simone has a passion for local news that connects with people. She has worn many hats from reporter to producer to fill-in host. She is excited to create a new local podcast for Chicagoans to help them better understand and engage with the city.
Prior to her work with City Cast Chicago, Simone's most recent big project was a podcast series for KNKX Public Radio in Seattle called “Forgotten Prison”, about the history of McNeil Island in South Puget Sound. A graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, Simone has also worked as a Wire Reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times.
Jacoby Cochran is a writer, educator, and master storyteller from the South Side of Chicago. He is the host of City Cast Chicago, a daily news podcast about all things Chicago! Jacoby has also voiced national campaigns including AT&T's, “We Are Believers,” Best Buy/Gizmodo's “What's Next In Tech,”and Kohl's “Kohl's Cash.“
Outside of recording, Jacoby hosts live shows, teaches storytelling workshops, and can be seen with his camera most of the time. Jacoby earned his bachelor's degree from Bradley University and a graduate degree in Communications, Rhetorical Skills, African American Studies from Syracuse University.
