The Publicity Club of Chicago celebrates the 62nd Annual Golden Trumpet Awards

CHICAGO, June 18, 2021 -- The Publicity Club of Chicago (PCC) celebrated the 62st anniversary of the Golden Trumpet Awards, the most prestigious awards program in the Midwest, honoring distinguished individual achievement in public relations, marketing and communications. The awards ceremony took place on Thursday, June 17 and was PCC’s second-ever virtual Golden Trumpet Awards ceremony.

Cramer-Krasselt won the 'Best of Show' award for their 'Navigating Coronavirus with the Brand Name Corona’ campaign.  The club also gave a special tribute to Dori Wilson, who passed away earlier this year in February.  

"We had to pull together this year’s ceremony for an online celebration. The Golden Trumpet Awards mean so much to the Midwest’s PR community and that was demonstrated by the number of companies that continued to participate," said Jim O’Reilly, PCC Board President’. "As we all are forced to socially distance, reliable communication has never been more important."

Four standout programs received five specialty awards at the conclusion of the program;

  • Cramer-Krasselt won the 'Platinum Award' and the ‘Jeffrey D. Bierig Brand Builder Award’ for ‘Navigating coronavirus with the brand name Corona’ campaign;
  • Jasculca Terman Strategic Communications won the 'Edwin J. Shaughnessy Quality of Life’ for the ‘Lakeview Pantry COVID-19 Response’ campaign;
  • L.C. Williams & Associates won the 'Buell Patterson Technology Award' for the 'AASM - Student Sleep Health Week’;
  • MWW won the 'Elynore Dolkart Meserow Creativity Award’ for the ‘Bridging Remote Learning During COVID-19’ campaign.

PCC Board Member and Metropolitan Family Services’ Bridget Hatch received PCC’s Volunteer of the Year Award.

Over 200 guests joined an online platform that included virtual meeting rooms and a livestream presentation emceed by WGN-9’s Ben Bradley and Lourdes Duarte, Comcast’s Maria Castro, Chicago Star Media’s Candace Jordan, and PCC Board Members Jim O’Reilly and Payal Patel. In partnership with the PCC, the production was put together by Video Parachute.
