News Apr 24, 2024

The Publicity Club of Chicago mourns the loss of long-time organization leader David Brimm.

Brimm, 71, passed away earlier this week on Monday, April 22. His service is taking place tomorrow, Friday, April 26 at 10:00 AM in Skokie, IL. Information about the service, interment, gathering, and memorial contributions can be found at Chicago Jewish Funerals.

The service will be live streamed on that same website. The gathering will take place in Vernon Hills this Friday following the interment and proceed until 6:30 PM.

We send our deepest condolences to Brimm’s family, friends and colleagues, which includes many of the PCC community.

Brimm received PCC’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020 for his distinguished service to the club as a frequent Board President and staff leader.

Fellow PCC Lifetime Achievement Award Winner and PCC Scholar in Residence Dominic Calabrese summarized Brimm’s impact on our organization in his introduction of Brimm for that Lifetime Achievement Award.

“You would be hard-pressed to think of anyone more worthy of PCC's 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award than five-time Past President David Brimm. I fondly refer to Dave as the "Iron Man of PCC!” In addition to serving as president longer than anyone else, he has also held every other position on our board.

Dave has earned a reputation as PCC's "go to guy," the man we all turn to for help. When we needed an emergency administrator to run the club, Dave was the first one to volunteer. In fact, we wouldn't even be holding tonight's virtual ceremony if it wasn't for Dave's efforts to make the submission of all Golden Trumpet entries, as well as the judging process, all digital.

In addition to a distinguished career practicing PR at the agency level as well as at his own firm, Dave has been a committed mentor and friend to scores of men and women trying to break into our business. He helped me and many others on numerous occasions.

Dave Brimm embodies the very best qualities as a Public Relations Professional and PCC Member. I am thrilled beyond words to salute him for this well deserved and frankly long overdue honor!”
